One of the most challenging and well-liked trekking routes in the Annapurna region is the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek. Numerous trekkers visit this region every year to view the Himalayan ranges. Poonhill is well known for its breathtaking views of the dawn and sunset as well as stunning peaks including Mt. Machhapuchre, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, and Mt. Annapurna, among others. One of the simplest paths can be found in the Annapurna Sanctuary.
One has the chance to learn about the distinctive way of life, culture, cuisine, and history of the people who have inhabited this area for hundreds of years. The closer and clearer picture of Mt. Annapurna that can be seen from the top of this peak is one of the main draws of this expedition. Equally nice is the friendly reception from the locals. There are several hotels, eateries, and guest rooms, thus this journey is clearly marked. As the number of travelers along this route rises daily, new hotels are being built. It is also a fantastic location for acclimatization hikes before more difficult hikes or climbs.
The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek begins with a tour of some of the well-known historical sites in the Kathmandu Valley. There are various starting and finishing points, just like on other trekking routes in the Annapurna Sanctuary region. The route for this trek that is most frequently taken is to begin in Nayapul and end in Ghandruk. Similar to the last journey, this one can be completed from Ghandruk to Nayapul. From both of the settlements, there are jeeps and buses that go to Pokhara.
Additionally, there are options to extend the trek through lovely paths to both the Machhapuchre and Annapurna Base Camps.
